Ranjani has a gift in making people feel at ease and comfortable that allows them to express themselves and their inner feelings in ways that allow healing and peace. The change is palpable in the atmosphere and in some participants even physically as their entire face changes to show this newfound peace. I have gained a lot from Ranjani both in the meditation workshop and with her counselling. I have attended other meditation groups in the past but have previously not been able to meditate successfully. This workshop was different as the group started from scratch and everything was very clearly explained as the process unfolded. Learning four different meditation techniques allowed the individuals in the group to choose the technique or techniques that most suited them. This is important as we are all individuals and not everything suits everyone.
Counselling was different as a one on one situation creates different dynamics to a group situation. Here I found Ranjani to be very compassionate and understanding while still being firm when required. Her intuitive and insightful handling of difficult situations was quite amazing during what I found a very tough journey of my own creation. In this environment she has many very useful techniques at her disposal and she uses them to benefit her patients. Some of these techniques were well outside my comfort zone but with persistence they have made a huge difference.

Ranjani helped me create calmness and positivity in my life when I was going through my Cancer Treatments. Her sessions were positive and powerful and very insightful. Ranjani seemed to know just where I was at and she always had plenty of commonsense advice and wisdom. I undertook workshops 1 and 2 seeking to improve my general health and make some improvements in my life. I would urge anyone to do these wonderful programs as they do make a difference in your life, and I only wish they came along much earlier in mine. Ranjani provides a friendly, caring environment; I found the group sessions to be warm and supportive and I looked forward to them every week. The programs provide you with many different strategies and alternative methods thus allowing you as an individual to select your own solution best suited to your own style. I found my own method of meditation to be a combination of a number a methods shown to us by Ranjani and this now works for me whenever I need time for some reflection and guidance. An important aspect of these courses is that once you complete one you do not feel alone, you do feel Ranjani’s ongoing support. I started going to Ranjani with a seemingly overwhelming problem: that there was something wrong with me as I couldn't make my relationship work with my partner at the time. Ranjani's counselling approach allowed me to realise that there was absolutely nothing wrong with me. Ranjani is a good listener and she allows you the space to say what you want to say if and when you're comfortable ... but she also gently challenges you with insightful questions and guides you to look at things in different ways. It can be difficult to speak openly about our innermost thoughts and uncertainties with people we don't know, but with Ranjani I felt safe and confident that she would respect my privacy and sensitivities without judgement. Most specially, I think she has succeeded in helping me to see that it's actually quite a good thing to be happy and joyful — no guilt required, no guilt allowed! I also took Ranjani's Level 1 meditation classes and they were just what I was looking for — practical guidance in a range of meditation techniques, a friendly open atmosphere, and uplifting discussion on topics that have the potential to make a difference to how you experience daily life. It was many years ago now I met Ranjani as a physician.It didn't take long to make the discovery that she was interested in my whole health and not just the symptoms that brought me to the clinic. She spoke to me also of the benefits of meditation and her own studies of alternative health methodologies. It was a huge and yet natural step for her to bring both learning streams together to help people like me to get to the real crux of my health issues.
In my life I have often been unable to calm the bouncing thoughts in my head, to find the spaces in between and stop there peacefully for awhile. Ranjani showed me a variety of ways to assist in finding that quiet time. It was an oasis that I now know how to find more easily and seek regularly.
In the last several years major difficult issues in my life were made easier through a more objective perspective I achieved during meditation. I found that most of my life is spent in the mind and that I had become oblivious to my body. Now I am much more aware of it and much more connected. My behaviour has changed in a healthier way and I can see and feel the difference it has made.
Although finding the 'rest' I get in meditation it is still a work in progress I have no doubt about it. Any or everyone can benefit in learning the techniques that Ranjani can teach. My journey has also been greatly aided by Ranjani's counselling. She listens, she guides and when necessary she challenges you to believe in yourself. I treasure the time I've spent in her company, even more now than when I saw her as my local GP. She's helped me to dress the wounds of my soul.

Having completed the first 5 week meditation workshop, I feel that I now have the tools to create a place of stillness in my everyday life. The workshops were an insightful introduction to various meditation techniques and gave me the opportunity of finding one that resonated within. Thank you for being my rock and my inspiration when I most needed it. I have never told you this but in the early stages when I was trying to navigate all the emotions which my diagnosis threw up, I used to use your name as a kind of mantra to keep me focused on what you encouraged me to believe was and is my truth. Ironically at a time when I could be expected to be experiencing the opposite feelings, I have never felt so happy or at peace with myself as I do now. Although I wish the reason for coming to see you in the first place was different, I really don't regret a day of the past twelve months. I have benefited from undertaking both individual counselling sessions, as well the Journey into Self Workshop, with Ranji. More than anything else, this has been for me a journey of self-discovery and self-actualisation. While initially I sought Ranji’s assistance to help me deal with a very difficult, distressing, and challenging situation at my workplace, what I have so far gained from the process is much greater and far reaching. At one level, the sessions and Workshop certainly helped me to develop and put into place effective strategies to manage my situation at work, but at a much deeper level, what I have gained is a greater understanding of myself, my life journey, and my interactions and relationships in all areas of my life. After spending nine years completing two degrees (Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Social Work), I came to the realisation that I hadn’t spent much time focusing on my personal wants and needs. There were too many topics to learn and too many deadlines to reach. I knew what I wanted to do in relation to the work force but I was unsure as to how to achieve the goal. This sense of uncertainty left me feeling anxious and worried about the future.
A friend of my mothers recommended that I see Ranjani to seek some help for my new journey. Ranjani and I met once a fortnight for three months and discussed a number of issue. But one thing that really helped me was that she reassured me that it’s ok not to feel guilty about not working or having something constructive to do. Ranjani emphasized that it was ok to spend some time enjoying the simple things, such as reading a book or watching a movie during the day. She encouraged me to take steps in gaining employment, but to not get caught up in a negative cycle.
By following these insightful suggestions, I was able to enjoy my own company, the company of my friends and eventually found work at a place that suited me.

My name is Irene Feynberg, and I am a cancer survivor. After all of my treatments, Dr. R. Ratnam helped bring my health back up to what it was before my whole ordeal. Throughout my course of treatment, the medication and stress caused a lot of problems for me mentally, as well as physically. Seeing Dr. Ratnam helped me deal with the mental and emotional aftermath of such an ordeal... She did such wonders that I even gave up smoking ! I now feel more in touch with myself spiritually, helping me feel more at ease with my life and the pain I went through in the past few years. Dr. Ratnam is definitely someone I would recommend to my friends and family, if ever needed. I found the natural approach to health to be more rewarding and satisfying, as well as helpful, than some of the other treatments I have been advised to undergo.
